Most yards have more beds than people realize. Front foundation beds, side beds along the driveway, beds wrapping the back of the house, around the shed, along the fence line, even under the swing set. When all of those areas are messy heading into the season, the whole property looks unkempt - no matter how nice the house itself is.
That's exactly what we were working with here. This Arlington Heights property had beds spread across the entire lot that needed a full reset. We went through everything - cleaned out the debris, cut in sharp edges where the bed meets the turf, laid down weed prevention, and finished it all off with a fresh layer of dark mulch across every single bed on the property.
What makes a job like this work isn't just the mulch itself. It's the consistency. Every bed getting the same clean edge, the same depth of coverage, the same finished look. The arborvitae bed along the fence, the foundation shrubs out back, the narrow strip along the side of the house - they all got the same level of attention. That's what ties a whole property together.
Fresh mulch does more than just look good. It holds moisture in the soil, helps regulate ground temperature, and puts a real dent in weed pressure for the season. When you pair it with proper edging and pre-emergent treatment, you're setting the beds up to stay low-maintenance for months. That's a win for the homeowner and it shows in the finished product.
The customer was beyond satisfied, and honestly it's easy to see why. When every corner of a property is dialed in - front, back, and sides - the whole place just looks intentional. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.
